Two early second half goals were enough to end the Lights’ seven-match unbeaten streak.
Las Vegas Lights FC lost 2-0 to Lexington SC at Lexington SC Stadium in Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.
After a balanced first half, Lexington took the lead in the 51st minute of play through Nicolas Firmino.
The Kentuckian side managed to double the lead only three minutes later through speedy winger Marcus Epps.
Head Coach Devin Rensing made strategic substitutions, moving the team forward in an attempt to pull one back and go for another comeback on the road.
However, it was not enough. The Lights’ seven-match unbeaten streak ended in Lexington, Kentucky.

I think we’re a little disappointed in our performance. We couldn’t get three points in a row, but this shouldn’t ruin our momentum. We’ll focus on the next game and we’re gonna leave with the good.

We have to make sure we know just one game doesn’t define us. We continue to grow, continue to do our job. We’ve been doing our job so, we take the good and we keep going.

I think we’ve been doing really well at home, so very excited about that and looking forward to getting six points.

Yeah, it was unfortunate. I’ve got to give credit to Lexington. I didn’t think we executed in well enough moments. We made two mistakes early in the second half that led to two goals, and you can’t do that at this stage of the game against a good team.

We’ll go back and watch the film and digest a couple of things. These next two games are home games and we have to get wins, we have to get points, we have to keep pushing on, climb up the table, and go for the W.
