Arozarena set a club record for single-season shutouts with his 10th of 2025 in a 0-0 draw against Miami FC on Saturday night

Las Vegas Lights FC goalkeeper Raiko Arozarena was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 28 on Tuesday morning.
Arozarena earned his spot on the Team of the Week after recording his 10th shutout of the 2025 season in a 0-0 draw against Miami FC, setting a new Lights single-season record. He surpasses Thomas Olsen’s mark of nine shutouts, which was set in 2019, with six matches still to play.
The Cuban made five saves to preserve the clean sheet and earn a point for his side.
His first big save came in the 75th minute, as Cristian Vazquez turned inside the box and fired a close-range shot at the near post. Arozarena stood his ground and reacted quickly, pushing the chance out for a corner.
The Lights’ goalkeeper then one-upped himself in the 87th minute with a top-class reaction save.
With Las Vegas chasing a game-winner, space opened up in the defensive third, allowing the ball to be cut back to Gerald Diaz on the penalty spot. His shot seemed destined for the back of the net, but Arozarena denied Miami the game-winner with fast reflexes to push the ball up to the crossbar.
This is the Vegas goalkeeper’s second USL Championship Team of the Week of the season. He has also been named to the Team of the Week Bench twice: once for league play and once for USL Jagermeister Cup play.
Las Vegas Lights FC will return to Cashman Field on Saturday, October 11 to host Oakland Roots SC for Kick Cancer Night. Tickets are available now at lasvegaslightsfc.com/tickets.
