Troise will become the 4th-youngest acting head coach in USL Championship history

Giovanni Troise has been named Interim Head Coach ahead of the home match against Monterey Bay FC on Saturday, June 14. He will continue to lead the team during the search for the club’s next permanent Head Coach.
At 28 years, 1 month, and 23 days old, Troise will become the 4th-youngest acting Head Coach in USL Championship history. He trails only the following coaches:
- Nikola Katic – 27 years, 11 months, 22 days (Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, 2014)
- Luke Spencer – 27 years, 221 days (Louisville City FC, 2018)
- Paolo DelPiccolo – 27 years, 41 days (Louisville City FC, 2018)
Troise officially joined the Lights as Assistant Coach on January 30, 2025.
The Italian’s previous experience includes an Assistant Coach stop at Miami FC and Match Analyst roles at Puteolana 1902 and Potenza Calcio’s Primavera side, both in Serie D. He holds his UEFA B Coaching License.
