Arozarena made a crucial penalty save in the 78th minute to secure the 3-1 road victory over Orange County SC
Las Vegas Lights FC goalkeeper Raiko Arozarena was named to the USL Jägermeister Cup Team of the Round Bench on Tuesday morning.
Arozarena earned a spot on the Team of the Week Bench after a crucial penalty save in the final minutes of the Lights’ road win over Orange County SC in the USL Jägermeister Cup.
Protecting a 3-1 lead late in the game, Las Vegas conceded a penalty in the 78th minute. Orange County had earlier scored their lone goal on a first half penalty. However, this time around, Arozarena dove to his right to deny Lyam MacKinnon’s penalty and keep the Lights’ advantage at two.
From there, the team was able to see out the match for the 3-1 victory. Arozarena made six saves over the full 90 minutes.
Forward Christian Pinzón was named Player of the Round earlier on Tuesday morning, meaning he also features on the full Team of the Round Starting XI. Pinzón provided an assist on the game’s opening goal and scored the eventual match-winner.
