There’s only one Las Vegas. So a team photo shot in Las Vegas should reflect that.
Consider that the case with Las Vegas Lights Football Club’s 2018 team photo, photographed with permission at The Neon Museum, Las Vegas.
Shot at dusk in front of signature lights from the city’s past at The Neon Museum, Las Vegas, the landscape includes all of the necessities – Lights FC’s 2018 player roster in their Zappos-designed, BLK-produced signature home kits, the club’s coaching staff and Zappos’ very own Dottie and Dolly.
The best part? Saturday night, the first 5,000 fans to enter Cashman Field for the club’s 8 p.m. showdown with Swope Park Rangers will receive a poster of the team’s one-of-a-kind, signature team shot, presented by Denny’s. Single-match tickets for Saturday start at just $15 and can be purchased by calling 702.728.4625 or by visiting LightsFC.com/SingleTix.
“Las Vegas is the home of lights – figuratively & literally,” Lights FC Owner & CEO Brett Lashbrook said. “We are proud that Cashman Field & The Neon Museum are our neighbors in Downtown Las Vegas. We love our heritage. We love our home. We love reflecting Las Vegas in everything we do. And we hate ordinary team photos!”
Speaking of away from the ordinary, this past Saturday night, Lights FC hosted the first United Soccer League (USL) regular season match at Cashman Field, and did so in front of a highly-energized crowd of 9,019. The tone for the night was set early, with pre-match features including the entrance of the club’s new mascot – “Cash the Soccer Rocker” – on a Harley-Davidson, plus unique, individual player intros through a tunnel of blue and yellow lights.
Fittingly, the club’s home regular season debut came against in-state rival Reno 1868 FC, in what was the first leg of the newly-minted Silver State Cup. A thrilling, edge-of-your-seats, up-and-down affair ended in a 1-1 draw. It included a wild finish in stoppage time with Lights FC’s Juan Carlos Garcia nearly heading in a would-be game-winner in the final seconds of the match, as Reno goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski made a spectacular save to preserve the tie.
The second of three legs in the series won’t take place until Aug. 28 in Reno, but Saturday’s match at Cashman Field should be just as entertaining. Lights FC (1-0-1, 4 points) is currently tied for second in the Western Conference standings, while Swope Park Rangers (2-0-0, 6 points) is tied for first, and features the league’s leading goal scorer (Kharlton Belmar – 4 goals).
Lights FC players are excited for the opportunity to try and keep the positive momentum rolling forward against top-level Western Conference competition Saturday night at 8 p.m.
“We’re excited to have this type of support from our fans,” Mendoza said following Saturday’s match. “We want to make sure we continue to perform at the highest level for them.”
