Locker, Anderson, and Leal scored for the Lights, but it wasn’t enough to defeat a powerful Lexington SC side

Las Vegas Lights FC lost 5-3 to Lexington SC on the team’s last match at Cashman Field on Saturday night.
The Lights played catch-up throughout the night, first falling behind early in the first half at the hands of Xavier Zengue. Carson Locker tied things up a few minutes later with a powerful low shot from outside the box, but Lexington took the lead again through Brazilian midfielder Nicolas Firmino.
Lexington almost headed to the halftime break at an advantage, but Oalex Anderson’s curling golazo went past goalkeeper Semmle to make things level for the Lights right as the first half was about to end.
Nicolas Firmino scored his second goal of the night in the 62nd minute to put Lexington back on top, and star midfielder Blaine Ferri doubled their lead soon after, potentially settling the game in favor of the Kentucky side.
Patrick Leal managed to pull one back for the Lights, making all the fans at Cashman dream of a potential historic comeback. But Patrick Seagrist scored during stoppage time to seal the deal for Lexington in their visit to Las Vegas. 3-5 was the final score.
The Lights will now travel to California to face Monterey Bay FC on October 24 for their last match of the season.

HEAD COACH DEVIN RENSING
On his thoughts following the match…
We started off slow. We can’t do that. You got five goals at home, that just can’t happen. Five goals in a game. That can’t happen and five goals at home just can’t happen.
On the team’s mentality heading into Monterey Bay…
We represent this club, we represent the city. We’re going to go to Monterey and fight.
