Ofeimu put up a solid defensive performance against Hartford Athletic, making a total of 19 defensive contributions
Las Vegas Lights FC defender Benjamin Ofeimu was named to the USL Championship Team of the Week Bench for Week 29 on Tuesday morning.
Ofeimu earned his spot on the Team of the Week bench after leading the team in defensive contributions (19) against an undefeated Hartford Athletic at Cashman Field, helping the team earn a point against one of the most difficult rivals in the East.
The Lights’ center back was impeccable on Saturday night, making 17 headed clearances and winning 92% of all aerial duels. He was also key in the buildup phase of the game, keeping an 88% passing accuracy.
Las Vegas Lights FC will travel to California to face Sacramento Republic on Wednesday, September 30. The team then returns to Cashman Field on Saturday, October 3 to play against San Antonio FC on Kick Cancer Night. Tickets are available now at lasvegaslightsfc.com/tickets.
