Lights forward Oalex Anderson joins the Vincy Heat as they attempt to qualify for their first Gold Cup in 21 years
Las Vegas Lights FC today announced that forward Oalex Anderson has received a call-up to the St. Vincent and the Grenadines national team.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines will face French Guiana on September 26, Belize on September 29, Sint Maarten on October 3, and once again Sint Maarten on October 6 for the 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League B group stage.
The 2026–27 Concacaf Nations League will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the confederation’s premier national team competition.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines was slotted in Group D with French Guiana, Belize, and Sint Maarten. The group leader will qualify for the Gold Cup, get promoted to Nations League A, and advance to the semifinals of League B. The second-placed team can potentially qualify for the Gold Cup preliminary tournament via FIFA ranking. The last-placed team will get relegated to League C.
The Vincy Heat aspire to return to the Gold Cup after 21 years of failed attempts. They qualified for the 1996 Gold Cup after ending as runners-up in the 1995 Caribbean Cup, losing to Trinidad and Tobago in the final. At the Gold Cup, they lost 5-0 to Mexico and 3-0 to Guatemala.
Oalex Anderson has been a prolific force for the Vincy Heat, netting 27 goals in 54 matches.
Anderson has made 22 appearances for the Lights this season, scoring 10 goals and contributing one assist.
