The 23-year-old Ghanaian midfielder made 32 appearances in the Finnish first division in 2025
Las Vegas Lights FC today announced the club has acquired midfielder Abraham Okyere from FC Haka, pending league and federation approval.
Okyere is under contract with the Lights through the 2027 season with a club option for 2028.
Originally from Ghana, the 23-year-old Okyere played for Finnish Veikkausliiga (First Division) side FC Haka last season, tallying 32 appearances, scoring one goal, and providing one assist.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Abraham to the Lights, a player we believe will be a great fit in Head Coach Devin Rensing’s midfield,” said Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. “His technical ability allows him to excel in tight spaces and switch play effectively, putting us on the front foot as often as possible. He is also a very direct, aggressive midfielder, which will help improve our chance creation to give more opportunities to our talented attacking group.”
A product of the International Allies academy, Abraham Okyere made his professional debut for Ghanaian side Inter Allies FC against Bechem United on January 4, 2020.
Okyere would then have a stint at UAE third tier side Al Hilal United before making his way to Belgian Pro League club K Beerschot VA. He made his Belgian Pro League debut on July 7, 2021 against Union Saint-Gilloise. He alternated between the first team and the U-21s during his time with the Belgian club, racking up a total of nine goals in 18 matches for the reserve side.
In 2023, he had a brief stint with Indian I-League side TRAU FC before joining Kokkolan Palloveikot (KPV) in the Finnish third tier, where Okyere was named the best midfielder of the 2024 season. He also led his club to a miraculous run in the Finnish Cup, where they reached the quarterfinals against all odds, knocking out higher division clubs FF Jaro and FC Lahti in the process.
His performance earned him a move to Finnish top-tier side FC Haka where he made 32 appearances, playing 2,517 minutes for the Pirkanmaa club.
