Goalkeeper Charlie Lanphier, defender Benjamin Ofeimu, and forward Christian Pinzon were all honored following a 1-0 away victory over Miami FC to push the team back into the playoff spots.
Three Las Vegas Lights FC players were named to the USL Championship Team of the Week Bench for Week 23 following a stellar road performance at Miami FC to secure a club-record fourth league away win in a row.
Goalkeeper Charlie Lanphier and defender Benjamin Ofeimu were standouts as they secured a second straight clean sheet, while forward and club captain Christian Pinzon picked up his 6th assist of the season on the game-winner.
Lanphier had three top class saves to preserve his shutout on the road. First, a top class point blank save early in the first half kept things even, before two huge second half saves protected the lead. Most notably, his effort to push a shot over the bar in the 74th minute stifled Miami’s best late chance.
Ofeimu turned in another assured performance at center back, tallying 11 clearances, three blocks, and two interceptions in defense. His key contribution, though, was a headed clearance off the line in the second half after Lanphier was caught off his line from a punch.
Pinzon turned in yet another assist to become the club’s all-time leader in assists. After Ofeimu and Kyle Scott combined to create the break, Pinzon sprinted down the middle of the pitch and dished the ball to Arteaga, who cut inside to fire home the game’s only goal.
