Las Vegas Lights FC Head Coach Dennis Sanchez
On his overall impressions on the match…
At this point in the season, any point on the road is really important. We were unfortunate to give up a goal in the first half when we felt like we had a lot of the run of play. We have to be better in those moments.
On his team’s mentality to erase another deficit and earn points…
To come back again and show resiliency on the road is a necessary point especially because if you lose that game, you give three points to Tulsa. I’m happy with the guys’ resiliency.
On how Tulsa disrupted the gameplan on Wednesday…
It’s not an easy place to play. The field is not really conducive to allow us to play our football, not only from the surface itself but the size of the field too. It was a really disruptive game, it was hard to find rhythm for us, and that’s where we have to roll up our sleeves and match their physicality, match their verticality, make sure we’re doing those little things right. Over the course of the game, I thought we did those consistently well.
On Coleman Gannon’s 1-v-1 ability and instant impact…
I’m really happy for Coleman. He’s a guy who maybe hasn’t played as much over the last few games, but I try to continue to encourage him and make sure he knows that I believe in and am confident in him. Credit to him, he gets isolated after we switch the ball and he takes his chance.
