Las Vegas Lights FC Head Coach Dennis Sanchez
On the comeback win…
Obviously proud of the group. We’ve shown different moments throughout the year where we were resilient and can adapt and overcome moments of adversity. Obviously we want to have a better start, but I love that the guys stayed, calm and collected and stayed true to our game plan.
And we found a way to win, so couldn’t be prouder of them.
On Khori Bennett and Vaughan Covil’s second-half impact…
Khori continues to come up in big moments for us. It’s not easy taking a PK and the pressure, especially down. If he doesn’t hit that where it’s a completely different match, but I thought that he continues to build confidence and he’s so dangerous in and around the 18.
So we just have to keep putting us in those areas. And then, for Vaughn, look anytime you can get yourself in dangerous areas and take shots, you make something happen. I thought that all the guys that came on, again helped us. And it was a very collective performance again.
On Charlie Adams’ leadership
I thought Charlie came on and changed the game for us. His positioning, his ability to get on the ball, link the game for us. We really focused on starting on one side and finishing on the other. And he was able to do that pretty successfully which then isolated Joe Gyau a lot in 1v1 situations it really allowed us to have more wide dynamic. So I thought that he came on and for sure changed the game for us.”
On the bye week before heading to FC Tulsa…
I think again, we want to just keep taking it one game at a time. Tulsa is going to be a tough test. There’ll be a level of some rest and recovery, but at the same time, keeping rhythm. So guys will have a couple of days off just to, hopefully get some guys back fully healthy.
But we’re just going to continue to take it one game at a time and put ourselves in a position where we’re competing for a playoff spot and really finishing as high as we can in the standings.
