The Las Vegas Lights are hosting the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Tuesday in their first of two meetings on the season. Here is everything you need to know:

PREVIOUS MEETING: The Switchbacks defeated the Lights 3-2 at Cashman Field on Oct. 7, 2023. Jairo Henríquez, Maalique Foster and Romario Williams scored for Colorado Springs, while Tyler Bagley and Lucas Stauffer found the back of the net for Vegas.
CRUCIAL HOMESTAND: Tuesday kicks off the first of three consecutive home matches for the Lights with Colorado Springs, Memphis 901 FC and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds all visiting Cashman Field over the next couple weeks.
TIGHT WESTERN CONFERENCE: Nearing the midway point of the regular season, the margins are incredibly small in the West. Just five points separate third place Memphis 901 FC and the Lights in 10th place with each match pivotal as teams jockey for playoff positioning.
UNBEATEN RUN: Colorado Springs enters Tuesday’s match on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run in USL Championship play (6-0-2) after losing their first four matches to begin the 2024 campaign. Outside of a 1-0 loss to New York City FC II in the U.S. Open Cup, the Switchbacks haven’t tasted defeat since a 1-0 loss to Phoenix Rising FC on April 13.
DEFENSIVE PROWESS: The Switchbacks boast the third-best defensive record in the league, having conceded just 14 goals in 13 games.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Maalique Foster, F
Foster hasn’t lit up the stat sheet with goals this year — he has just two in 12 appearances — but his playmaking in the final third has been a tremendous boon to this Switchbacks attack. Foster is tied for sixth in the USL Championship with four assists and tied for 11th in chances created with 24.
