On his overall impressions on the match…
We knew going into the second half that if we can find one more goal, we can put the game away. We also knew that there were going to be moments of suffering. We knew that Louisville was a good team and was going to respond. We were fortunate to make it out of that period without conceding a second goal. We’ve played arguably the two best clubs in the USL Championship, over the last three-to-five years, in the last two matches and had opportunities to win both matches. We’re not going to get too high, we’re not going to get too low. We’ll take the point.
On how his team responded after going down early…
Something we have to continue to improve upon is not going down early in games. What I liked is we stayed true to our game plan and who we are and fortunately found a goal and then found a second. They responded well. There have been moments of resilience in this group throughout the year and competitive spirit, so hopefully next time we’re coming into halftime up 2-0 instead of 2-1.
On Valentin Nöel’s continued success…
We want to put our best attacking players in good positions. He has a knack for arriving in the right areas. When you start scoring, confidence builds, and he continues to produce for us.
On Charlie Adams’s free kick goal…
Charlie’s found some consistency since coming back from his early injury this year. We know that he has a lot of capabilities to help during the match, but he can also be a dead-ball specialist for us. Besides his goal, he had some really good services coming from dead balls and had a really good performance.
On how to take the positives from recent results and move forward…
There are no easy games in the USL Championship. We’re hungry for three points. We’re getting closer and closer. We’ve had consistent performances, especially over the last three games. We just have to keep pushing. There are little details that we can fix. I want the group to continue to believe in the process we’re building here, but we’re very close to establishing ourselves within this league.
