Dominican Republic’s Senior Roster and Under-23 to include Lights representation as Riki Alba (Senior Roster) and Edison Azcona (U-23) earn call-ups for upcoming international friendlies
Las Vegas, NV (March 21, 2024) – Las Vegas Lights FC today announced that two of its players have earned international call-ups from the Dominican Republic National Team and are set to join their respective rosters for upcoming friendlies: forward Riki Alba (Senior Roster) and midfielder Edison Azcona (Under-23 Team).
Alba and the Dominican Republic senior roster face Aruba (March 23) before traveling to face Peru (March 26). Meanwhile, Azcona and the Dominican Republic Under-23 team has two friendlies scheduled against Paraguay on March 23 and March 26.
Alba has scored twice in two appearances for the senior roster after making his Dominican Republic senior roster debut last October.
Azcona, 20, has scored one goal in three appearances with his country’s U-23 side and also has earned four appearances with the senior roster.
In USL Championship play, Alba joined the Lights last week and made an instant impact., He made his 2024 regular season debut last weekend and scored a goal, with an assist from Azcona, who has two regular-season appearances and one assist for the Lights thus far
While Alba and Azcona are away on international duty, the Lights return home for their second home match of the season when they face Saturday, March 23 at Cashman Field (5 p.m. PT / National: ESPN+, Local: SSSEN)
