WINNER – #1 SEED: JUNIOR BURGOS @ S.D. ON 3/7/2020
The first goal for Lights FC in the 2020 USL Championship season will be one that won’t be forgotten by fans of the team. Las Vegas wanted to spoil the party for the debuting San Diego Loyal S.C., with the inaugural USL goal scored in Torero Stadium potentially being the best to ever been seen there.
El Salvador National Team member Junior Burgos fired a rocket from 30+ yards out, the precision on it was amazing with the ball barely hitting the crossbar before going into the back of the net. ESPN Radio Las Vegas host Tyler Bischoff described it as “The greatest goal in Lights FC history”, and now the fans will have the opportunity to vote for it in this poll to officially be named that.
Junior’s goal won its quarterfinals matchup against Miguel Garduño by receiving 89% of the votes, while in the semifinals he edged out Jesus Gonzalez with 50.47% of the votes and defeated # 3 seed Javan Torre in the final round with 64% of the votes.
