Las Vegas (NV) — The last Lights FC home game featured “Knights Night” —the Salute to the Golden Knights— where the team wore special commemorative jerseys that replicated VGK jerseys. Now, in continued support of their cross-town friends who are in the middle of a first-round NHL playoff series against the teal uniform colored San Jose Sharks, the Lights FC is continuing to show their support in unique ways involving their match jerseys.
Specifically, the Lights FC home jersey features a range of iconic blue, yellow & pink neon colors — that could be interpreted by some color experts to include a shade of teal within it. As a result, Lights FC has announced that it will take gold metallic sharpies to cover over all teal-like colors within its jersey.
We have studied the intricacies of masking a teal-like color and have decided the best course of action is to use an almost forgotten technique, familiar to all school-aged children, called “scribbling”. We have studied, we have trained, and we are confident in our approach.
“It’s admittedly arguable as to if the shades of blue in our jersey resembles a form of the color teal, but we aren’t taking any chances!” said Lights FC Owner & C.E.O. Brett Lashbrook. “We love VGK and always want to show our support. Until the first round of the NHL playoffs are over we will not have our players wear anything teal colored. Viva Lights! Go Knights Go!”
Saturday’s match kicks off at 7:30p at Cashman Field against Tacoma Defiance. Tickets start as low as $15 and may be purchased at LightsFC.com/Tix or any local La Bonita Supermarket in Las Vegas.
