It’s a reward for victory on the field unlike any other in professional sports. And it couldn’t possibly be more ‘Las Vegas’ than this.
On Tuesday, Las Vegas Lights Football Club (FC) announced a partnership with downtown’s iconic Plaza Hotel & Casino as the club’s official hotel partner. A highlight of this announcement is the introduction of the $30,000 3-Goal Win Bonus for Lights FC players in the club’s inaugural season.
Tuesday’s event at the Plaza included the unveiling of the hotel’s brand placement on the club’s official match shorts – featuring Lights FC players showing off just the shorts – ahead of Saturday’s Soccer Spring Training opener against Major League Soccer’s Montreal Impact, taking place at Cashman Field at 8 p.m. Lights FC players were joined by Head Coach Chelís, Owner & CEO Brett Lashbrook, City of Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Plaza CEO Jonathan Jossel.
The staple of this partnership, though, will be as Vegas-centric as such an agreement can get. For each home win at Cashman Field this season in which Lights FC tallies three or more goals, each player who participated in the match will be rewarded on the field with $100 in $1 Plaza Hotel chips. The Plaza will place up to $30,000 in chips at stake for players to earn over the course of the 2018 campaign.

Our players know that our fans want lots of goals. And with the Plaza Hotel’s support, this will be incentivized and rewarded in one of the most ‘Vegas’ ways possible!”
