Samaké to undergo ACL repair surgery and Alba prepares for surgery on meniscus

Las Vegas Lights today announced a pair of injury updates regarding two players scheduled to undergo upcoming knee surgeries: defender Gaoussou Samaké and forward Riki Alba. While Alba is expected to miss 1-2 months in recovery, Samake is slated to be sidelined for 6-8 months following an upcoming knee operation.
Samaké suffered ACL and MCL injuries to his left knee during the Club’s match on May 25 at the Tampa Bay Rowdies. For Alba, the upcoming meniscus surgery on his right knee is slated to address lingering issues from a knee injury from prior to his time with the Lights.
Both players are slated to undergo respective knee operations in the coming weeks and will then begin their recovery timelines.
In USL Championship action, the Lights open the month of June this weekend – a month in which they will play five times at Cashman Field. This weekend, the Lights welcome Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday, June 1 at Cashman Field (7:30 p.m. PT / National: ESPN+, Local: SSSEN & FOX 5).
